Cashier Assist Register Transaction Video Unit consists of a TFT color Monitor, controller, video camera, and power pack.
When the system is activated, it stores the image of any items that were detected and records the check stand number, time and date of the detection. It has an available "Acknowledge" button that when pressed by the cashier, records verification that the cashier viewed the image.
CARTVU+ is a versatile system that can be used in a variety of configurations. It can be used as a standalone system or as an enhancement to the eBOB system. There are several options in the system to allow variations that would conform to specific requirements. There is an optional display available that supplies a 2 inch by 8 inch, flashing "CHECK UNDER CART" message. A network option is also available to allow for image download and viewing.
The CARTVU+ system may be used in a single sensor or 2 sensor environments for multiple cart styles. Each cart is tagged with a reflective sensor that enables the system to activate each time a cart passes the checkout lane. When a cart is detected, the system displays the image from the camera for a selected time (1 second to 99 seconds), and a "CHECK UNDER CART" message.
In an eBOB environment, the CARTVU+ system is attached to and driven by the Store-Scan eBOB system. It activates the video display and alarm only when an item is detected by the eBOB system. In this mode of operation, each detection of the items on the lower tray are recorded and the image is stored with date, time and lane number for future reference.
The system’s adjustable audible alarm, gives several different alert tones when activated to inform the cashier of the detection. As the cart exits the check lane, it resets and enables the system for the next transaction.
