Self Check Out Terminal Video Unit consists of a TFT color Monitor, controller, detection unit and video camera. They are all housed in a single unit. It is powered by an external power supply.
The SCOTVU system is mounted above the scanning area of a Self Checkout Terminal. When a customer approaches the terminal, a detector senses their presence and activates the system.
At that time, the video unit enables and the customer views the product scanning activity. When the customer moves away from the SCOT area, the unit resets and awaits the next customer. The unit has a video output port available that allows the video to be sent to another monitor up to 100 feet from the unit, to allow remote monitoring of the Self Checkout Terminal activity.
An optional second camera feature allows a second camera and monitor to be attached to the system. This second camera option would permit the system to display, for example, a view of the bottom of the basket at the same time the customer is at the Self Checkout Terminal.
The SCOTVU system is a stand alone system that does not interconnect with any other equipment at the check stand. The system requires 100-120 VAC standard unconditioned power.
